Shout LGBTQ Spotlight Night: special preview screening of Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street
Since its 1985 release, “A Nightmare on Elm Street 2,” with its overt innuendo, leather bars, and a show-stopping dance number, has been called “the gayest horror movie ever made.” This reputation caused long-lasting damage to the film, but more significantly to the its then-closeted star Mark Patton, who had not signed up for being outed. “Scream, Queen!” tells the story of Patton, the tragic turn his life faced during the homophobic Reagan-era 1980s, and his unexpected resurgence in recent years. — Kyle McKinnon
