It’s estimated that half a million abandoned or feral cats live in New York City. With shelters full and animals euthanized every day, volunteers hit the streets of all five boroughs to trap these cats, have them spayed or neutered, and re-release them. But it’s a tough road for these cat lovers to tend to their often-suffering charges. This loving documentary is a portrait of the hardy rescuers who make saving as many cats as possible their life’s work. — Corey Craft
