New kid in town Daniel LaRusso befriends his apartment complex’s handyman and all-around karate genius, Mr. Miyagi. Good thing because Daniel’s new crush, Ali, has an unscrupulous bully of an ex-boyfriend who isn’t too happy about Daniel’s recent relocation. “The Karate Kid” gave us William Zabka, Bananarama's "Cruel Summer” and one of the most epic film montages of all time. The movie celebrates its 35-year anniversary as part of the Family Fest lineup at the 2019 Sidewalk Film Festival. — Rachel Morgan
